I just turned 18 and I am ready to go ahead and get my driver's license. It took me awhile to complete the driver's classes, but I finally did it. My little brother is on his way to take his driver's test too. Nowadays, with the new technology, he has a simulated driving class too. At the end of the course, he must take an online test in order to complete his driver's program. I took an online testand passed it with flying colors. After that,I had to get real driving hours, aproximitly 60 hrs in order to take my road test. After takingthe rules of the road online test, I was ready for my road examination. On the day of, I was very nervous. The female driving instructors were helpful though because theycomplimented memy progress. They knew I was going to pass the drivers road test with flying colors.

The road test only took 45 minutes. Even though I was nervous, I concentrated very hard on the road and followed all of the rules. I stopped at the stop sign long enough and I made sure I looked not only in the side view mirror, but over my shoulder when I was going to pass. Getting on the highway was the scariest of all. But I was okay when I remembered what I had learned; keep going at a steady speed, adhereing to the highway's speed limit.

After it was all said and done, I anxiously watched with nervous hands on the steering wheel, the test instructor scribble notes on his pad. Finally, after several moments, the test instructor looks up with a bright smile, "Great job kiddo, you've passed." I was ecstatic and quickly got out of the car to phone my dad to let him know the good news.

When I got home,my father was outside in the garage waiting on me. "Son, I am really proud of you and your brother for working hard and studying the rules of the road carefully." As he was speaking and with the garage remote in his hand, the garage door began to lift and there she was--the bright orange Sunbird that I had wanted for the longest time. After I jumped up and down and thanked my father profusely, he told me that everything was ready to go and the only thing I was responsible for was the car insurance. I immediately called the insurance group that my friend Jake had recommended; Nationway's Insurance Company.This insurance group rates were fairly affordable compared to theother insurance group I was initially planning on getting. I was ready after the insurance company confirmed my payment. I could not wait to show my girlfriend Sally the new ride I would pick her up in!
