When I left college I took a job as a van driver. It was a nice little job, driving from destination to destination delivering goods. It was a part time job, and I took it to earn some money for university, as education is not cheap and didn't want to leave university having massive debts. The year passed by really quickly and when it came to leaving my job I didn't want to. I had gone off the idea of going to university and chose to stay on as a full time van driver. With the money I had saved up for university I bought myself a motorbike. It was my pride and joy, I was always out and about on it, and when the weather was too bad to ride it, I was in the garage polishing it. My dad bought a motorbike too, and we used to go out on road trips camping and staying in various bed and breakfasts.

I really loved driving and was watching a program on learner drivers and thought that that could be a good career move for myself. I went to my local driving school and found out all the things I needed to become a driving instructor. The driving schoolwere actually recruiting so I left my name and number with them and was told I needed to take another theory test but with double the amount of questions. So I went home and started to revise. A week later I booked myself in for the theory test. I was a bit worried that I may have over revised and wouldn't remember anything but all was OK, and thankfully I passed.

The driving school gave me a temporary instructors licence until I had passed the other tests I had to take, and also gave me a booking for a lesson for a new learner. I was so excited, the lesson couldn't come soon enough. I went out delivering flyer's and putting up posters with my contact details on and the driving school information on.

The day of the first lesson arrived and I drove to meet my new pupil. I think she was as excited as I was. We sat and I talked her through the basics. It was very strange, teaching someone else to drive as it had only been a few years since I was learning to drive. My pupil list grew and grew and I have loved every minute of it.
